SUMMER DAY CAMP & SPORTS CAMP INFO

ROSSFORD COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER SUMMER DAY CAMP

80s Day

The Zoo

   Boys & Girls ages 7-12 years

 June 9-August 15, 2008

Camps run Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm

Activities will include Major Magic, Putt-Putt Golf, Toledo Mud Hens Games, Swimming on Tuesdays & Thursdays, Ice Skating at BGSU, Putt-N-Pond, Nickel World, Rolling Hills, Maumee Bay State Park, & Monsoon Lagoon.  This year we will also have themed party days!!!  All campers must provide lunch daily, sports drinks & pop machines are available.  Please register your child as soon as possible to reserve your spot.  Camp fee(s) payable upon registration.  All campers MUST BE pre-registered (no walk ins). 

 

FEES & ENROLLMENT OPTIONS

1)   $700 for the entire summer (all activity fees included)

2)  $75 weekly rate (all activity fees included)

3)  $30 daily rate (field trips are not included in these rates)

4)  $8 hourly rate (these individuals are not eligible for field trips)

***10% Rate reduction on 2nd & 3rd children if enrolled full time***

Summer Trips 2008

 

Swimming at the YMCA, every Tuesday and Thursday June 10 – August 14.

            Cost - $5 per child.  Child needs to bring swim suit, towel and sunscreen.  Bus leaves at 12:30 pm and returns at 3:30 pm.

 

Major Magic’s – June 13, 2008

            Cost - $10 per child.  This includes 3 pieces of pizza, unlimited drinks, and 16 tokens.  Children may bring extra money to buy more tokens.  Bus leaves at 11:00 am and returns at 2:30 pm.

 

Toledo Zoo – June 20, 2008

            Cost - $10 per child.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch to eat at the zoo.  They can also bring extra money to buy souvenirs and snacks.  Bus leaves at 10:30 am and returns at 3:30 pm.

 

Putt Putt Golf – June 27, 2008

            Cost - $3 plus cost of activities.  Golf: 1 course - $3.50 2 courses - $6.00 3 courses - $7.50.  Rookie Go-Karts - $5.75 per driver, Indoor bumper cars - $2.50 per ride, arcade machines - .25 each.  Ice cream is also available for purchase.  Bus leaves at 11:00 am and returns at 2:30 pm.

 

Rolling Hills Water Park – July 11, 2008

            Cost - $12 per child.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch, swim suit, towel, and sunscreen.  There are concessions there if your child would like to bring extra money.  Bus will leave at 10:30 am and return at 4:00 pm.

 

Putt-N-Pond – July 18, 2008

            Cost - $19 per child.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch, swim suit, towel and sunscreen.  There are concessions and arcade games there if your child would like to bring extra money.  The bus leaves at 11:30 am and returns at 4:00 pm.

 

Bowling Green Ice Arena – July 25, 2008

            Cost - $9 per child.  This includes skate rental.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch, and warm clothes (sweatshirt, sweatpants and socks).  Bus will leave at 11:00 am and return at 3:00 pm

 

Maumee Bay State Park – August 1, 2008

            Cost - $3 per child.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch, swim suit, towel, and sunscreen.  Children can also bring beach toys, footballs, baseballs, Frisbees, etc…  Bus will leave at 10:45 am and return at 3:30 pm.

 

Nickel World and Woodland Park – August 8, 2008

            Cost - $5 per child.  Child needs to bring a sack lunch and all games are a nickel.  Children must bring their own nickels.  When we leave Nickel World we will be going to Woodland Park.  The bus leaves at 11:00 am and returns at 3:30 pm.

Monsoon Lagoon – August 15, 2008

            Cost - $24 per child.  This includes a Bumper Boat Ride, Coral Reef River Ride, Typhoon Rush Slide Tower, Lil’ Squirts Play Pool, Unlimited Golf (18 Holes), and Bath House.  The kids will also have a pizza party and drinks.  Children can bring extra money for the arcade, gift shop, go-karts and concessions.  The bus will leave at 10:00 am and return at 4:30 pm.

 

Mud Hens Games – June 17, 2008 and July 28, 2008

            Cost - $15 per child.  This includes a hot dog, chips and drink for lunch and admission.  The bus leaves at 11:15 am and returns at 4:00 pm.

 

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

It's all about the FUNdamentals!

Instructional Sports Camps will be offered this summer in a variety of sports and broken down by age groups.  Kids will have FUN while learning the basic fundamentals of the sport.  Kids, ages 7-12 years enrolled in our Summer Day Camp during the week are automatically enrolled for our sports camp at no extra charge!  Or, if you are only interested in participating in the sports camp, you can do that too for a small fee.

PEE WEE SPORTS CAMP SESSIONS

Boys & Girls, Ages 4-6

Tuesday/Thursday  10am-12pm

A fun introduction to the sport with instruction and game play.

SESSION 1:  Basketball Camp  6/10 & 6/12

SESSION 2:  Flag Football Camp,  6/24 & 6/26

SESSION 3:  Basketball Camp  7/8 & 7/10

SESSION 4:  Flag Football Camp  7/22 & 7/24

SESSION 5:  Soccer Camp  7/29 & 7/31

FEE:  $12 member/$18 nonmember per session or register for all 5 sessions for one low price, $50 member/$75 nonmember

USTA-PLAY TENNIS AMERICA

To pre-register for this camp, call (419)666-2905 to be added to the list.  Fee will be paid to instructor on first day of camp.

 INSTRUCTOR:  USPTA Mr. A.J. Szozda

PROGRAM FEE:  $50 per person

 The United States Tennis Association is a recreational team tennis program for youth based on participation, skill, development and low key team matches.  Tennis will be a six week program and will include skill instruction and drills.

 REGISTRATION DEADLINE:  Please contact the Rec Center to be put on the list by Friday , June 20, 2008 at 12pm

Parents Night Out

Boys & Girls, Ages 5-12 years


Parents, need a few hours to yourselves but don’t know what to do with the kids?  Drop them off for a few hours of fun at the Rossford Community Recreation Center while you get some well deserved time to yourself.  Kids will enjoy supervised activities, including gym time, movies, arts & crafts, and other fun activities.  PLEASE REGISTER AT LEAST 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE SO THAT WE CAN PLAN ACCORDINGLY.  SPACES ARE LIMITED!

FAMILY CAMPOUT

July 19-July 20

(Register by July 12, 2008)

Food, games, & tent camping.  Come enjoy a night under the stars with your family and ours.  All families welcome.  Simply provide a healthy donation of non-perishable food to benefit the All Saints Food Pantry.  Kids MUST be accompanied by parents the entire evening.  NO DROP-OFFS.  If you have any questions, or for more information, please contact Sarah at (419)666-2905

FALL YOUTH FLAG FOOTBALL

Boys & Girls, Ages 4 through 4th grade

Smaller fields and teams to better teach skills and improve play.  Your child will have fun while learning the basic fundamentals of flag football.  Practices will begin late August/early September.  Games are played Saturdays September 6, 2008 through Saturday October 4, 2008.

FALL YOUTH SOCCER

Boys & Girls, Ages 4 through 4th grade

Smaller fields and teams to better teach skills and improve play.  Your child will have fun learning the basic fundamentals of soccer.  Practices begin late August/early September.  Games are played on Sunday September 7, 2008 through Sunday, October 5, 2008.

FEES:  $26 RCRC Passholders & Members/$39 nonmembers

DEADLINE:  Please register by Friday, August 8, 2008    

CREATE A COMIC BOOK

Boys & Girls, Ages 5-12 years

In this fun class, kids get to use their imaginations in creating and developing their own original superhero and storyline.  This class emphasizes kids exploring their imaginations and developing their creative side, rather than requiring them to be great artists.  Kids of all artistic abilities are welcome to enroll.  The kids will be guided through character development and story development as well as some basic art skills by the instructor.

TIMES:  Thursdays, 6:00pm-7:00pm
